The 8 Essential Fire Safety Features for an Accreditation Survey
Statement of Conditions
About This Program
As a licensed architect with years of experience in healthcare design and compliance, I understand the unique pressures hospitals face during accreditation surveys and inspections. My firm has prepared Statement of Conditions for facilities of all sizes — helping them identify risks, close compliance gaps, and present their environment of care in the best possible light.
Now, I’ve created a practical video series that guides your maintenance team through the survey preparation process step-by-step. This training video series shows your maintenance crew exactly how to read and use the Statement of Conditions so they can actively help prepare for the survey.
You’ll learn how to:
- Make the most of your existing resources to stay compliant year-round
- Understand what surveyors look for — before they arrive
- Address common deficiencies before they become costly findings
- “Read” your Statement of Conditions to help prepare your facility
- Build confidence across your staff for a smoother inspection
Whether you’re a facility manager, safety officer, or hospital administrator, this series gives you clear, actionable strategies to ensure you’re always ready for a survey — without wasted effort or last-minute panic.
Your hospital deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing you’re prepared. Let’s make sure you walk into your next survey with confidence.

Understanding the Life Safey Code is often difficult, complex and confusing especially when multiple authorities are involved. Often preparation for the facility survey falls to Health Center Maintenance folks and creates a very stressful situation often with mixed results. Use of effective training tools and Ireland Architects, reduces stress, identifies problems and allows for identified issues to be resolved in a timely and positive way. This provides for an elevated confidence going into the survey and a successful survey. I would highly recommend the training Health Care Facility Training Academy provides and the use of Ireland Architects to support the Accreditation process.

The 8 Essential Fire Safety Features course offered by HCFTC is an excellent resource as preparation for a facility's upcoming accreditation survey and as a continuum of building safety all year around. As a retired hospital facilities manager, I participated in 7 triennial accreditation surveys. My team was responsible for creating our facility Statement of Conditions, as well as maintaining all hospital building life safety features. The Life Safety Code used to survey hospitals and health care facilities is complex, and this training academy provides an excellent source of information and helps to bring the complexities into focus. The presentation is clear, concise, and straightforward. Having a successful survey requires your building to meet Life Safety Code. Surveyors also pay attention to knowledge of the Code by the building's staff. This presentation will prepare your team for a successful survey and provide the confidence that you're keeping you're patients and staff safe.
